I know this problem from switching between RscOS and Windoze. Or from
trying to load a file that has been moved from its orignal creation.
In all cases the reason for the crash was that a picture could not be
found. For the reasons as expained by Jeremy Nicoll.

My solution, and it has always worked until now, is as follows.

A file displays at the top left corner of your screen. Now drag the
bottom right corner just far enough (to bottom right) that the
OvationPro window becomes visible below the Button Bar. Click in this
white space and then press CS-O. In the "View Options" de-select
'Pictures'. Now you can open your document.

Double-click on the 1st picture frame you see. Then open the Picture
reference window (Menu>Picture>Reference...) Click on the icon to the
right of 'Collect referenced pictures', then click on 'OK' in the new
window. This will probably result in an error message giving you a
clue how to solve the problem.
