I think they are, sort of. But they seem to have some special properties.

And shortcuts never seem to work quite right. There seem to be times
when they give you what they point at and times when they don't.

And now they've introduced Libraries, which is yet another layer to
get in the way.

I just wish they had implemented the predictable behaviour of Unix
links.
