I wonder does a snap in a 64k mode result in a 64k mode sprite.

I was assuming it does i.e. when a part of the screen is grabbed in a
64k colour mode using OS_SpriteOp 16 the OS will save it as a 64k
mode sprite.

If that is the case, then the release version will have a problem
when it looks up the bpp value for a type 10 sprite (64k colours),
since the static array of stored values only goes up to type 8
sprites 8o(

I was wondering what happens when 64k sprites are turned loose. Do apps understand them, for example something like Ovation Pro uses RISC OS to render sprites but probably also has some code of its own, then there are apps like DPScan which process sprites using all their own code.

I might be inclined to automagically convert to 32bit sprites.
