Spaces might be hard spaces or tabs. Ellipsis is as Peter just said, odd
can be three dots can be a single character. You might even have
characters in there which do not show up.
Windows is nice in that you can mark text, copy, then paste into the
search icon, but it is not clear what would happen if the odd characters
that RISC OS and Windows do not agree on were present.
