The ability to use more than 3GB of RAM.
Improvements to the User Access Control facility - it's not dissimilar 
to Ubuntu's method of working now.
probably lots of other things I haven't found yet - I've only had 
hands-on for a week, and it's work, not home, so I haven't had too 
much time to play.

It's definitely an improvement on Vista anyway (not that that would be 
hard...)
