“Beyond Text: Embodied Analysis and the Digital Archive”



Dr Sarah Whatley is the Head of Performing Arts at CU's Centre for
Media and Performance and a well known practitioner and scholar,
whose recent work includes studies of the choreography of Siobhan Davies 
and of  issues of choreographic style and identity and music/dance 
relationships 
including performance that explores the movement implications for the dancer 
immersed in visceral and gendered sonic environments. Related to this is her 
growing interest in dance ethnography and the role of the participant 
observer/social researcher in witnessing the creative process.
