Hi and Happy New Year! As part of the Great Dance Weblog < http://greatdance.com >, I'm launching a new audio podcast that will cover a range of topics related to dance with a strong focus on digital technologies. I'm especially interested in interviewing choreographers and dancers who have integrated various performance technologies into their dances. But I'm also interested in many other topics including news stories and trends, dance on camera, online marketing and promotion, conferences, new developments in education and training, mobile and wireless developments, and other topics. There are many people around the world that I would like to interview. So I wanted to find a way to conduct these audio interviews without spending a lot of money. What I came up with is the Skype software < http://www.skype.com >. Once you install the free software on your computer, you can make free international calls to others who are also using this software. You do need a high-speed Internet connection as well as a microphone connected to your computer. I've been using Skype to talk to a friend in England (I'm in DC). I'm surprised by how good the audio quality is. When I do audio interviews with Skype, I can instantly record the audio interviews and then post them to my blog. Plus multiple people can participate in Skype calls so its easy to host a panel of experts/practitioners and record the call. If you want to test Skype, my username is dougfox. By the way, I can also do interviews by regular telephone. So if you are interested in participating in an interview, please email me with your suggestions. Best, Doug Fox Great Dance Weblog doug@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://greatdance.com
