Hi,

Eroktronix is beginning public beta testing of MidiTron Wireless(TM), our new wireless sensor solution. A limited number of beta units are being offered for sale now, in advance of the product being available for general sale. At this time, they are only available to customers with U.S. shipping addresses.

I am sending this email out to offer people on this list an opportunity to participate in the beta program. Please do not forward this email to other people or other lists.

Subject to approval, you will be able to purchase one beta unit for $495, the planned retail selling price. Here are the benefits of participating in the beta program:

- Early availability: You will receive the product significantly in advance of general sale.
- Extended trial: Should you be dissatisfied with the product during the beta period, and for up to 15 days after the product is offered for general sale, you may return it for a full refund.
- Free shipping.
- Price protection: If the retail price is reduced at initial general sale time, we will refund the difference to you.
- Free connector adapters (see specs).

Units will be sent out in early December. During the beta period, we expect you to report on your experience with the product at least once a week, especially if you encounter any problems or bugs.

Initial units will be sent out without enclosures (that is, as unboxed circuit boards). At the end of the beta period, your unit will be upgraded to be compatible with the final release. You will need to return the product for a short period of time for upgrading. It will be returned to you with enclosures and with release software installed.

If you wish to participate, please send a brief description of your planned use(s) of the product as well as your experience in using sensor technology. Subject to approval, we will reply with a link to enable to you purchase the product.

MidiTron Wireless(TM) specifications:

- Two separate units: transmitter and receiver.
- Broadcasts in 900 MHz band for greater reliability, range and freedom from interference compared to WiFi, Bluetooth and other 2.4 GHz technologies.
- Eight available channels (up to eight units can be used simultaneously).
- Long range: up to 1/4 mile "line of sight" range.
- Transmitter runs off a 9v battery.
- Transmitter is very small (approximately 1 1/4" x 2 3/8" x 1 1/2", or a little larger than two stacked 9v batteries) and can be concealed on the body.
- Receiver sends and receives MIDI via MIDI In and Out ports or over USB.
- Up to 20 inputs (up to 10 analog and up to 20 digital inputs in any combination up to 20).
- High resolution (10-bit) analog input mode.
- Four available connection options via connector adapters: screw terminal type (original MidiTron style), 3-pin type (as used by certain other sensor suppliers), solder board type, and ribbon cable/DB25 type.
- Constant Sync(SM): transmitter continuously updates receiver with sensor values, so data isn't lost to interference.
- Very low transmission latency: minimum about 2 ms for one input; maximum about 7 ms for 20 inputs (10 analog high resolution, 10 digital).
- Functions very similarly to the input features of the original MidiTron (see documentation at http://miditron.com for more info).
