Dear Friends,

T.S. Elliot said that "April is the most cruel month!"
Well, it is true in some way - there are too many things to see and too many things to wrap up before the summer! Lots of stress!
But sometimes, it is a good stress - creative stress, I guess.

So, please come to see the premiere of an expanded cinema performance DENIZEN by KINODANCE company (whom I am part of) on *May 2, Wed, 7:30pm and May 3, Thu, 8pm.* It is presented by the Bank of America Celebrity Series and Boston Cyberarts Festival!

I hope to see you at the show!
warmly
Alla

*ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE *
In a day and in life, denizens are in search for space to inhabit, for place to belong, for time to possess, for a moment to rest, traveling far from, and ultimately returning to the self the bodies they are born into. The performance "Denizen" is influenced by Armenian Cinema masterworks by Sergei Parajanov and Artavazd Peleshian (specifically by Peleshians film "Seasons" (1979)). It is an homage to Armenia, one of the oldest civilizations in the world. Images appearing in "Denizen" were captured last fall in the Northern Lori region of Armeniain some of the exact locations where "Seasons" was shot.

Formally, "Denizen" is a work that uses film as a starting point. In the performance, five distinct personalities - denizens - mold movement, light, images, sets and sounds to orchestrate a cycle of poetic haikusto transmit the mythical and ritualistic qualities of a land and its people.
