This Workshop marks an important moment in the history of writing and new
media. In the last two years, the trAce Online Writing Centre has gone
through a number of changes. Founder and Artistic Director Sue Thomas and
Web Developer Simon Mills left trAce to join De Montfort University. Helen
Whitehead took up a new post in online education, and Randy Adams moved on
to new projects. For the last 12 months trAce has been in the care of Gavin
Stewart, who has shepherded it through that period of transition and this
summer sees the launch of an archive http://tracearchive.ntu.ac.uk/ and a
history of trAce, followed by a move to the University of Luton. This
workshop is an ideal opportunity to reunite and share memories of the
trAce community whilst also looking towards new opportunities.

The day begins with a presentation by Randy Adams http://runran.net, editor
and visual consultant of trAces: A Commemoration of Ten Years of Artistic
Innovation at trAce and ends with a presentation by Sue Thomas
http://www.hum.dmu.ac.uk/~sthomas/, Professor of New Media at De Montfort
University and Programme Leader of the new Online MA in Creative Writing &
New Media http://www.hum.dmu.ac.uk/blogs/cwnm, looking at the future of
writing in a changing media environment.
