MPs will join Mr. Zenon Dolnyckyj and Joel Chipkar in condemning Jiang Zemin regime?s violence against the 35 westerners who legally appealed in Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Their experiences raise grave concerns about China?s state terrorism, which has been carefully camouflaged by hastily crafted ?laws? in violation of both its own constitution and international human rights laws. They also call on Canadian government to fully utilize the upcoming bilateral Human Rights Dialogue between Canada and China to urge China to put an end to it?s illegal ban on Falun Gong. Film footage of the practitioners? appeal in Tiananmen Square will be available for distribution. Zenon was punched and kicked in the face, head and body and was detained and interrogated with the other participants. They were deported from China in between 24 to 48 hours later. Zenon chose to go to Tiananmen Square so that he could speak to all of China. He wanted the Chinese people to have a chance to know Falun Gong is good and not to be deceived by Chinese government?s propaganda. They have also shown to the world that Falun Gong is not just a Chinese issue. For the past two years, the Chinese government has been brutally persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. More than 320 innocent people have died due to mistreatment in custody, more than 100,000 people have been sent to forced-labour camps without trial and over 1,000 have been detained in mental institutions, subjected to electric shocks and forced injections of dangerous drugs. Falun Gong practitioners have won support and respect from millions of citizens and governments around the world. Millions of concerned citizens have joined to protect the essence of freedom and virtue that Falun Gong represents. ___________________________________________________________________________ For background on the spiritual practice and the crisis in China, please visit http://falundafa.ca/infocentre .
