First, Brissa - I appreciate your dedication and commitment to the club with
this amazing news letter.
Second, The Todd Creek Clubhouse is not going to be available for the next 2
months.
They have decided to move forward with renovation next week. These should be
completed in mid June and Amy said we could revisit the club moving here after
they are complete.
I am extremely sorry this happened - I don’t have any other immediate “new
home” options for the club. I will keep looking to try and find suitable
accommodation.
Thank you so Much!

Fellow Juxtaposed Toasties! When gathered side-by-side, one can never tell what
mastery will emerge.
Confused?
Well, you should have been there.
Our first speaker Elliot really got us thinking about Nature vs. Nurture. He
enlightened us with the unusual way that he found his voice and encouraged us
all to find our voice. His evaluator, Boyce pointed out the many confident
aspects to Elliot’s speech and if you missed it, you missed the awarded best
speaker of the night. You should have been there.
Our second speech was delivered by (myself) Brissa. It was a motivational piece
to keep brand new medical students to finish college and “get through the
struggle”. Amanda delivered a sincere and observant evaluation pointing out an
authoritative yet relatable presence.
Also, last night all members were challenged to truly think about the best
answer for a given situation in our Table Topics portion of the evening. From
grasshopper paste to setting up shelter, Dirk required us all to use the
Word-of-the-Day. Kuddos to Jennifer (not Amy) for using the Word-of-the-Day not
once, but three times. It was a skillful spectacle, you should have been there.
Well done Jennifer! Congratulations to our Table Topics winner Ray for an
entertaining bit on riptides with common sense.
Recently, Carbon Valley Toastmasters has raised not one, but two members in
receiving the Competent Communicator Award. Congratulations Amanda and Brissa.
Randy your next! He is one speech away from accomplishing the Competent
Communicator Award as well.
Mark your calendars for April 13th 9:00-11:00 AM because Carbon Valley
Toastmaster Dirk will be competing in the Evaluation contest @ Lutheran Church
of the Master 14099 West Jewell Ave. Lakewood, CO 80228.
Hey, did you ever hear that one joke about what the drunk said to the cop? You
know, about a lecture the drunk was headed to?
Oh yeah, you weren’t there. It was so funny, you should have been there.
Until next time – Brissa Childers, your newsletter editor, April 10, 2019.
