It says to verify via VRFY at mail.acme.com any email addresses that ends with the string .acme.com

How would you interpret this? (from my ASSP config web page):

*mydomain.com=>smtp.mydomain.com|other.com=>mx.other.com:port

Like what it says: verify via VRFY at smtp.mydomain.com any email addresses that ends with the string mydomain.com or if not verify via VRFY at mx.other.com:port any email addresses that ends with the string other.com

Also, isn't the *mydomain.com a bit too broad? If it was *apple.com, then it would also match snapple.com.

Yes but so what? Will foo.bar@xxxxxxxxxxx pass VRFY at apple.com? No? Perfect. Right answer.
