Society: The 2017 International Blues Challenge is two full months behind us,
and we at The Blues Foundation know that you are now turning your energies
towards this coming year’s IBC and your local challenge. If you were at the
Affiliate Roundtable this past February, you received a hard copy of revised
IBC rules to include changes in weighted scoring, more complete definitions of
scoring categories, and most significantly, distance limits for contestants to
travel to various challenges. Our goals are to help you keep your local blues
scene thriving by encouraging local talent to support their local society
before venturing off to other challenges. Attached to this email is an
electronic version of those rule updates to assist you as you plan your
challenge this year. We are also currently working to update our website to

The 33rd Annual International Blues Challenge broke all prior records of
number of competitors, attendance and engagement. We all look forward to the
