The Supreme Court just overturned the Roe v. Wade decision which provided a
constitutional basis for the right to abortion. This is a major blow to women’s
rights and to the democratic rights of all. Protests have been or are being
announced across the country. We are calling for a full mobilization to
protest. All available supporters of the Internationalist Group, Revolutionary
Internationalist Youth, Class Struggle Education Workers and Trabajadores
Internacionales Clasistas should come out to protest with our contingents, with
our banners for abortion rights in New York and Los Angeles and lots of signs
everywhere. We should also contact all appropriate contacts and friends to come
out and stand/march with us as well. If comrades can take off work or leave
early without disciplinary consequences, they should do so. The protests will
inevitably be rife with Democratic Party politics, and we should have prominent
signs denouncing the Democrats as enemies of women, gays, trans people, etc.
But the main message of the front line should be for full abortion rights (free
abortion on demand), women’s liberation through socialist revolution – along
with against the Democratic Party and for a revolutionary workers party. We
should also include some signs against the imperialist war drive against Russia
and China. In New York we are calling for all comrades who can to go to arrive
at the main protest at Union Square, at 4:45 p.m. sharp for the announced 5
p.m. demonstration. We will decide there about what to do about the left
protest in Washington Square scheduled for 6:30 p.m.Please contact your
organizer to inform them that you will be coming (and when, for those who must
arrive later).
