Subject: [cs_edworkers] Note to CSEWers about a new list we are creating
Hi comrades,
We have started a news list to share important articles about education. The
purpose is to reach out to teachers we work with or meet at various activities.
Here is the blurb that educators will receive when they get their first post:
"This list is to share information about education topics among educators. It
is hosted by Class Struggle Education Workers. We stand for free, integrated
quality public education for all."
We wanted to have a secure platform to raise our profile somewhat. Most
likely, activist teachers we meet aren't ready to join CSEW, but they would be
interested in receiving news about education, particularly now. So, if for
instance, you think a Diane Ravitch article is particularly relevant or there's
an article of an impending strike of Chicago teachers, you can post it.
It is not a public list. We will decide who receives the postings. We will
host and moderate the list to weed out offensive posts. Guadalupe has agreed
to be in charge of the posts.
In addition to news articles, we'll carry announcements of public forums and
demonstrations that we go to.
Impotant: This list does NOT take the place of our CSEW list-serve which is
a membership list that we use for communication among ourselves.
You don't have to do anything to get on the list. It will come to you. You
can unsubscribe if you don't want to get it..
