Yup...good translation does come down to good interpreters..and so far, good
interpretation is down to human beings with a very good understanding and
perceptions of not only the meanings of the words and phrases of the languages
concerned, but the nuances of diplomacy, the culture, history, general and
particular, and scientific and semantic and vernacular usage of the words, how
the words are said and stressed, the intonation, intention and motivation and
how the sentences are constructed; and, last but not least the grammar. One
also has to contend with the personal knowledge and the level of sophistication
of the participants, and of course their body language, the situation and
context of the exchange. Not an easy task for a computer and software based on
mathematics and algorithms...
A test of computer software translators being to input in English and convert
it to French, and continue translating back the inputs and outputs a few times.
It doesn't take long for gibberish to run riot.😊

These differences are all dependent on the delusional world views of the
persons hearing those words. The language police have failed to come up
with an exact vocabulary to clarify the ideas expressed in everyday
speech. (I suspect that one of the important aspects of all languages is
to make deceptions possible). Human languages are no where as rigorous
and exact as computer languages. Rejoice in our ability to lie to
ourselves and others. It may be the very essence of humanity.
