More likely cyberwarfare will turn out to be over-hyped nonsense like
Year 2000. Some will benefit, call them the preachers of cyberthreats,
the coercive cops of security needed everywhere all the time, inside
your quivering carcass and air-bagged Humvee.

Or more specifically, shade-treed, garaged, storefronted, standards
eluding cryptographers and comsec astrologers, or more pinheadedly
their PR hypographers, their Snowdens and Mannings and Assanges
and sponsoring Cybercoms.

Still, Cryptome will appreciate your getting off our high heeled stilettos.

One week after the Israeli army formally recognized cyber weapons as a fourth dimension of warfare, alongside land, air and sea, the defence minister on Wednesday sang the praises of digital weapons, saying that they can attack and conquer enemy assets without leaving a trace.

Trouble is...Israel has the same vulnerability regarding cyber attacks from other nations.

That makes it equal then...All in deepshit together... J.

At some stage in the near future, given the speed at which this area of technology is developing; there is going to be a really big cyber attack on a nation state, which will be successful, if our intelligent services aren't careful...and the whole infrastructure of something like financial services, a stock exchange or two, or the power supply, or water supply will fail. Maybe the time is arriving for some kind of international agreement and social contract between peoples, states and individuals which protects us all from such things...but, such a course is highly unlikely... Experience dictates that it has to happen really big...before they believe that they are not impervious...
