Cheers...it brought back lots of memories of my indiscreet and misled youth in
the mid 1960's and beliefs and faith in the British Working Class, the USSR,
class struggle, Karl Marx. Lenin, Communism, the abolishment of the state, and
William Morris's Utopian Socialism. His News From Nowhere is a great favourite
of Prince Charles and the Greens who went to Eton or other such Public Schools.
i went to Public School too, it was called Camelon Public School...never heard
if it...well, it really was for Joe public and it doesn't exist any more.
I have now read the whole article and followed the links...very interesting
and very refreshing, one doesn't see a lot of such stuff, condensed into a mine
of material, very often, well worth a read in my opinion. In my time it was
more about stopping the war in Vietnam, Terrorism in Northern Ireland, (see
Stakeknife) the infiltration of the trade union movement, civil liberties, and
the government taking us into the EC without a vote or referendum. Nuffink
turns out as one imagines, no matter how clever one thinks one is.
The future is a matter of luck really, though one's own contribution can
sometimes make a difference in a very small way. All the Secret and
Intelligence services seem to do, is just to f*ck up the predictability or
success of humankind even more, by making future development more high risk.
But there you are...it makes life more interesting in other respects, I
suppose. Who wants to live at the right or left hand side of God or the Devil
for eternity...eh...:-) Unless of course one is a professional
atheist...looking for a soul.
Have you ever read the Secret Team? You can buy it on Amazon or download it for
free as a pdf file if you don't mind the paranoid url below...:-) Shows a
similar pattern exists amongst the US secret and intelligence services. Fucked
up Vietnam and the US people big time. For many years the Big Yins couldn't
fight a proper war abroad, as they just weren't trusted. Now they don't care
or bother too much. The internet makes the research and getting the knowledge
about other countries and goings on, in many respects, but it is so full of
crap nowadays, that one has to hold a masters degree in bovine scatology...
