II dare say that she had no other option. Who wants to serve a thousand
year term of imprisonment under Donald Trump on the behest of preserving
national security...or should I say-misdoings? Far better to become a
hidden CIA cadaver to be roasted as a sacrificial lamb tortured
beforehand on the pile of misdemeanours and felonies on human rights
perpetrated every day by the worlds intelligence agencies in the name of
protecting the US citizen from being annihilated by some foreign power
or other. The CIA morgue can be a far safer place to live rather than
being stuck in some hole 60 feet under in a supermax prison for the rest
of ones life, or in a foreign embassy in the UK, stripped of all rights
to express oneself. At least she exposed a little of what is going on
within the intelligence agencies and has therefore made her contribution
to civil liberties, a lot more than I, personally, would be brave enough
to do.
It's a bit like the use of drones really. They now are the answer to so
called terrorism anywhere outside of the USA. The whim of a President
and leader of the CIA has now become a commonplace and delegated to
inferior human beings, minions in the state hierarchy, not even worth
the concept of plausible denial. No collateral damage, always perfectly
co-ordinated and signature proofed killing of terrorists where even
babies and children and others who have nothing to do with the terrorism
are regularly sacrificed in the name of the protection of the US or UK
or European or Israeli democratic states. These people should learn
that the US democratic way of life is the only form of life on the
planet and that any form of opposition will be stamped on, shot at,
tasered or droned out of existence. It is the way of the world.
I have been puzzling in my mind what would be a good all round
definition of fascism, but apart from saying that one knows it when one
sees it, I can't really advance any self-satisfying justifiable
thesis...but I think that it is rapidly becoming an international
movement dressed up as populism in the world of today.
