Do the Democrats and the Neo-Con Republicans want a war with Russia? It is a
strong assertion to make, Chien. I would need to see evidence of it. Too
wide a statement for me. I can see certain groups of people wanting to have a
war with Russia, and at different times and for different reasons; but a big
enough coalition of them? I think that they are very small and ineffective at
the moment. And there are always the nutters of course, who want war with
everybody and anybody for no other reason than they hate themselves. I can see
that within the US establishment, the military industrial complex for instance,
might be interested in waging a war with Russia, and I dare say that the
various think tanks both within and without the military establishment run
scenarios where different kinds of wars are projected and fought out on
computer screens with competing teams and so on, which include the Russian
scenario. The Russians and the Chinese, and the British, and other European
countries will also be running the same sort of programmes, even if only for
defensive scenarios.
I can see too, that certain groupings hate Putin as an individual, in the role
he represents for his country. But there is a big difference in hating someone
personally and organising, or attempting to organise a war against them. And a
foreign power killing Putin, or attempting to kill Putin would be
self-defeating, just as those who have killed or attempted to kill US
Presidents, where political motives rather than being nuts as the reason, has
backfired on the perpetrators.
Wars of religion of course have gone on since religion was invented, my God is
always better than yours, sort of thing, and you had better believe in My God,
as he is the only True God, which has become a matter of dispute over the
centuries, and such reason has been used for conducting all sorts of wars for
all sorts of reasons, usually for personal gain, or being vindictive, or
getting retribution, for some alleged perpetration; extending ones power base
and so on.
Many more are concerned about the nuclear arsenal which Putin has the button
to, conveniently forgetting that their own countries have the same situation.
I would also suggest that at the first whiff of a war, a lot of people in the
US as well as in the rest of the world, would be on the streets, giving their
political leaders the screaming abdabs. And if there were a surprise attack,
then the retaliation, if the act of war was got on, would destroy the planet as
we know it for centuries to come. There are lots of other reasons too, why I
don't see a war against Putin, China being one of the major ones. The US and
Chinese economies are too integrated, depend too much on one another.
Bribery...corruption...feudal service, tribal service; that has always been
there, even before there was money, depends on how one defines it of course,
some kinds are legal others are not, and it is different from state to state,
and of course, at the secret level, it is all legal, but we are rarely privy to
that until it comes out for some other reason later.
I don't think that the main reason is the quest for money either, or greed.
Trump for instance, is a rich man, with a rich mans debts, he isn't doing it
for the money, or for greed, in my view. Military expenditure is still a small
part of world trade. The extension of political and economic power is more
likely, the control of trade, the control of other governments above the wall
and below the wall.
The US already has 14 trillion dollars of debt. It looks like it is going to
create an awful lot more. Funnily enough RA Wilson predicted that amount of
debt by the year 2017, unless the population was increased to pay the extra
taxes!...:-). Most countries appear to be increasing their national debt.
Conventional economics, if it ever existed, has gone out the window.
Increased interest rates were once used to control inflationary pressures,
nowadays, decreased interest rates are being suggested as a "cure". At some
stage, the creaks will turn into cracks and we will have one of our usual
financial and economic crises.
The newest scenario of course, is what is referred to as cyber war, using IT to
destroy, or immobilise the infrastructure of a country, from its electric power
generation and distribution to its defence and offence capabilities...that is
the biggest gamble of all, for those who want war. There is just no proof that
they can win it...
In my view, it is obesity that is going to be the real killer in the next 50
years, along with plastic getting into the food chain. Far more worrying than
war....
It's a point of view, I suppose, but no more than that. At some stage
humankind will disappear from the planet either through being superseded by
some other species, or because of some catastrophe or another. We haven't been
on the planet all that long, and seem to be doing our damnedest to destroy the
environment which is conducive for preserving the human species for
longer...but that is another subject...:-)

Hard to believe, but one major reason they want war with Russia is because
Putin and a significant majority in the country are actually proud of their
Christian roots and the culture it created. Putin gave a concise explanation of
this in a recent speech.
The Democrats, especially, really hate Christianity and traditional Judaism.
They imagine a religious tyranny imposed by Christians along the lines of
Atwood's 'The Handmaid's Tale'... ignoring the blatant fact that it's not
Christians who want this stringent, repressive way of life but Muslims... and
the basic infrastructure of this system (Sharia) is already in place and
increasingly enforced as though it were the law of the land.
The oil-rich Muslims pay better than the Christians and Jews. And Christians
and Jews are embarrassingly easy to bribe (in Arabic, bribery is called
'baksheesh'). This is a fact the Muslims figured out back when FDR met the
murderous King of Saudi Arabia on Bitter Lake. FDR made a Faustian pact with
the Saudis in exchange for what amounts to a trifling amount of petroleum
(think Esau trading his entire heritage for a bowl of lentil soup).
But the 'Western Culture' thing isn't the main reason they want war right now.
The main reason they want war is MONEY. They need the lucrative
military-industrial contracts, and the generous donations and 'handling fees'
they receive from grateful lobby cartels.
Here's just one site that shows what's going on in the global weapons trade. Of
course, the REAL trade is kept secret (like Reagan's deals with Iran, or the
more recent Obama-Clinton illegal weapons fiasco that got an Ambassador
lynched). There's also the hugely profitable black-market/gangster aspect that
wise men and women don't talk too much about lest they end up like Jimmy Hoffa
or Seth Rich.
