in essence, 3 guys resident in the US and of Muslim belief decided that
they want to commit Jihad...according to certain religious principles
contained in the Sunna and Koran, which they have interpreted in their
own way as being a personal achievement aquired through using violence
against the infidel i.e. innocent people like you and me...:-)
Their personal jihad is to aim is to kill Obama by shooting him, though
many other ideas are faithfully recorded by a C.I. (A paid informant of
the F.B.I.). Another idea, when they realised the enormity and
complicatedness of bumping off Obama, was to get a gun and shoot a
policeman and steal his gun and bulletproof clothing and kill more
policemen, steal their gear and then travel to the headquarters of the
F.B.I. and kill the "big yins" dream on...
For some reason they wished to receive the sanction of ISIL, and Mr.
Baghdadi, (the 5th Caliphate of Iraq). They have meetings, they make
telephone calls, they discuss plans which are all recorded by the paid
C.I. None of them have two pennies, or is it cents to rub together.
For some other reason, and after further advice from a contact, they
want to get to Iraq and decide to go via Turkey, so that they can walk
across the border with help from ISIL brothers. Presumably they are
going to gift their great intellects to help ISIL win the war and expand
the 5th Caliphate.
Now, this is a complaint by the F.B.I. in the form of an affadavit for
an arrest warrant, so the evidence isn't as comprenisive as it would be
in a trial. It is based on the recorded conversations and other actions
and information not revealed by the F.B.I. but obviously includes a
number of agents following their every move and digital and electronic
access being gained to various websites and lists. On one of the
websites, the guys have actually put their names on it saying that they
want to commit jihad and how can they go about it. They are traced
through their i.p. address and they admit to publishing the letters.
None of it is in code, none of it is encrypted, none of it is secret or
confidential, it is all open source. In the background to some of the
telephone conversations, words can be heard advising them not to say too
much whilst they are talking on the telephone...the participants
continuing to ignore the most basic security.
It is a lovely story, but there is a sting in the tail. The F.B.I.
could lose the case, because the C.I. instead of playing a passive role
in the proceedings, is, in my view leading them on in ideas, and
conversations and actions. One of those actions is to advise them to go
along and get their photographs and fingerprints taken for purposes of
travel from the United States. The C.I. not only advises them to do
this, but travels with them.
The place they were taken to for accomplishment of such a purpose,
was the Homeland Security Headquarters in New York. I don't know who
paid their fares or for their travel, but they actually believed that
all this was being done so that they could leave the United States
without the intelligence services, law enforcement or the NSA
knowing...Unbelievable, but there you are, such is the way of the world,
even in these post Snowden times...
