I find it strange how, every time I look at a photo of Gina Haspell, it
makes me cringe. I wonder why...I suppose that any credibility that I
ever had in the intelligence of the CIA has vanished out of the window,
ever since I learned about the waterboarding, the justification of using
it 186 times on an acknowledged terrorist, her watching some of it, and
the fact that, though "useful intelligence" was supposed to be have
gained from it, it has never been published and in fact most of the
records of that era have been destroyed, or are "irrecoverable"...:-).
Can one really erase soemething from the internet or a hard drive,
without destroying it...Does torture really establish the truth, or does
it produce ideas which I want to hear? I have never yet seen the
evidence of that, or understood the use of torture being used as a
justification. It's not that I don't have those kind of feelings myself,
but exercising them is a different matter, after all, isn't democracy and
the rule of law supposed to be what society is all about? Still, I
suppose that I am one of those soft headed liberals, outcasts and
politically incorrect individuals, who are so confused about the future,
and hated in this world, for our questioning and absurd principles, that
we are marginalised, despised and have no idea of what happens in the
"real" world...
Brexit is becoming an idea with which I am in love with more and more,
as time goes by. The big vote...will, might, or May take place in
Parliament next Tuesday. And the government, May or May not win...what
a to do? And if she loses, shall we get rid of her as Conservative
Party Leader, and the C.P. elect someone else, or will the House of
Commons elect a new negotiating Committee, or shall we have another
referendum, or, perish the thought, and election! Will the Labour Party
become united in opposition or a vote of confidence, what way will it
jump...who knows, so many of the establishment elites are still
remainers. Still, it makes politics more enjoyable, as all the old
mantras, fantasies, myths, philosophies, ideas and opinions dressed up
as facts by the old elites are once again challenged, further down the
line in our parliamentary democracy.
The question is, if we joined the European Union way back in 1972, why
can't we leave it? Is it really impossible for the United (disunited)
Kingdom to regain its soveriengty in today's world? When the US took
theirs, did they not separate and take on their own soverieng decision
making in the teeth of the English Government?
A new world, right enough...Just a few thoughts before Christmas,
peaceness and joyfulness to all nations and human beings...
