Old story...but a more recent one is that a US court is holding Iran
responsible for 9/11! Saudi Arabia was not held responsible, even
though 17 of the 19 members of the terrorist cell were Saudi Citizens.
Why was Iran held responsible. One or two of the terrorists might have
passed through Iran, wittingly or unknowingly with the knowledge of
Iran. Because Iran didn't defend itself at the court hearings, then it
was deemed that they were guilty and that the money should be taken from
what is left from their account. Remember, the money belongs to Iran,
and was supposed to be returned to Iran as part of the agreement on not
building a nuclear arsenal, and not developing enriched uranium.
The international organisation responsible for the non-proliferation of
nuclear weapons and many countries who were subject to the agreement
with Iran, say that there is no evidence of them continuing with their
nuclear programme. Israel has produced pre-agreement documents saying
that Iran was building nuclear facilities to produce nuclear weapons.
Israel also denies that it has nuclear weapons, even though it has
around 80 of them according to international experts. Israel refused to
talk about whether it has nuclear weapons or not, saying it is because
of national security. The real reason, in my opinion is because if they
did admit to having nuclear weapons and the means of delivery, questions
would be asked about where they got them from and asking why they
haven't signed up to the non-proliferation treaty, so that international
inspection teams can go to Israel to inspect the facilities there to
make sure that they are safe. Of course, if Israel hasn't got nuclear
weapons, then surely they would have no reason to prevent inspections
where it is suspected that they are manufacturing, maintaining and
storing them. After all, like Iraq, if you haven't got them, then no
one is going to find them...so there is no problem. Israel can then
carry on with its campaign to rid the area of any attempts at producing
nuclear weapons, without appearing as hypocrites...simples in it...:-).
Just a few thoughts on the world nuclear strategy adopted by various
countries to help rid mankind of nuclear weapons and how not to spread
them any further, which is what those countries signed up to do when
they agreed to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
