one wonders. probably because it sort of busts the myth about revelations "predicting the end of the world". can't have the fear of divine retribution quashed, debunked, and all that, that would never do!!! all those poor doom sayers walking around with their placards urging us to repent before god for our salvation, etc etc. maybe some religious campaign group got upset because revelations was more about predicting the fall of the Roman empire than a harbinger of the end of the world.
