A forensic expert says that the discovery of the bottle containing
Novichok will be a goldmine for tracing the origins of the bottle, its
make up, where it was made, when it was made as well as other stuff
which might have come from its local or original environment or being
handled. Perhaps we will get to the bottom of this some time soon, as
an awful lot of allegations and a major international crisis has been
caused by the statement by the UK government that it was the Russian
government which was responsible for the poisoning incident at
Salisbury, where an ex Russian secret service agent who was also a
working British Intelligence agent and his daughter were poisoned by
Novichok being placed on his front door handle.
We still await some positive evidence of who carried out the attack and
for what reason. I suppose is is possible that a specialised, highly
trained government team would leave evidence around for the likes of
children or other innocent people to pick up. However, it does seem
highly unlikely, if only because it would spoil the reason, the
motivation for the attack on the Skripals, in teaching Mr. Skripal a
lesson in how not to betray his country...
More food for thought.
