Hello IAQ STEM Hub Communities,
Hello, I am Rena and I am new to the IAQ Manager role.
I have previously sent this message via email, however resending it here on all
the Hub lists.
I have had some correspondence with different ideas from a few Hubs to date,
thank you.
We are planning an IAQ STEM Hub Forum. This Forum is an opportunity for all
Hub leaders to gather together in Brisbane, undertake some networking and
connecting and perhaps do some PD and strategic planning by connecting with
what other Hubs are doing. It would also be a great chance to hear from each
Hub region about what is happening (this can be an informal conversation or
presentation, there is no expectations on anyone).
As a matter of efficiency, so we get move forward with a preferred date and
arrangements, I am seeking your advice via email please. Please reply to me
regarding your preferred date by 20 September.
I would like to know:
1. What things you would best appreciate seeing at the Forum - (for
example - PD, presentations, networking, Hub member discussions and short
presentations, ideas for the future sustainability of hubs governance).
2. If you would prefer single day event or a two day event? It was
suggested that if we started later in the day and then finished on the second
day by lunch, this would allow for people to travel to and from more easily.
3. Your preferred date/s from the below selection:
November (week of 19-23 Nov) Forum date/s Options:
1. Monday 19 Nov (single day)
2. Tuesday 20 Nov (single day)
3. Wed 21 Nov (single day)
4. Thurs 22 Nov (single day)
5. Fri 23 Nov (single day)
6. Mon 19 & Tue 20 Nov (commence 11am first day and conclude 12pm second
day; helping with travel)
7. Tue 20 & Wed 21 Nov (commence 11am first day and conclude 12pm second
day; helping with travel)
8. Wed 21 & Thurs 22 Nov (commence 11am first day and conclude 12pm second
day; helping with travel)
9. Thurs 22 & Fri 23 Nov (commence 11am first day and conclude 12pm second
day; helping with travel)
Why was this week selected? This week in November also hosts the STEM
Conference hosted by QUT, which many Hub members are coming to Brisbane already
for and that for teachers, senior marking will be completed.
Will assistance be provided to attend? Importantly, IA can assist for 2 Hub
members travel per region and one nights accommodation to attend, we do not
want cost to be a barrier to attending. Lunch will be provided at the forum.
If there is a third person who is very keen, we can negotiate this.
Thanks for your suggestions. Can I ask that you talk to your Hub members about
this and come back to me as a group if possible by 20 September, then I can put
something in the dairy to confirm.
Thank you and looking forward to your responses!
Rena :)
