Kula is a pure rushdown character, her ice breath (fireball) is great
for ground game at max range.
d+C is her normal anti air while the dp(C version) is better as a
reversal (also on wake up).
You also need to her anti hop buttons, A and B are great, f+A is her
combo extender and d/f+B command slide can low profile a lot of things
including hi projectiles Eg King's fireball.
Her qcd+p is awesome for reflecting projectiles including super
versions.

Like in Tekken(and various other fighters) if you manage to get close
to your opponent and have them block a jab. Its your turn, because you are
at an advantage.
I am struggling to find a way to get my opponent to stop pressing
buttons, and in turn to get any form of offense going.
Occasionally it happens and I get some pressure/offense going but then
I dont know why it worked so I dont know how to attempt to recreate that
situation

Fierce version has autogaurd on first hit, but safer on block, slow
start-up.
Weak version is punishable on block, can be linked for combos.
ex version is safe on block, super punisable if your opponent rolls out
of 1st hit tho. It does the wall bounce.
You can press d+A after d+B, it's a link.
After the others you can press df+C.

Found that you can cross opponent up in the corner after Maxima's
command grab if you dont do the followup. If you do the followup then you
cannot cross-up.

The game feels a whole lot easier to get to grips with compared to 13.
The combo mechanic is simple enough that I can do everything I want in
practice mode. Getting it right when actually playing against Paas is a
different thing, but that will come with time.
I like the game.
I wish there was some sort of community out there that was putting
together information on the characters – gameplay, combos, frame data…

like an easier version of kof98um with that ultimate EX mode put in
there for extending combos.
so they increase the duration of the maxmode as a comeback mechanic.
