Tip for the day.
Don't unplug the hdmi on the PS4 while it is on.
Yesterday, I plugged in the PS4 after session only to get a scrambled
screen.
Naturally, I thought it was the hdmi cable, but all of the cables I had
were doing it.
Internet search suggested a broken hdmi port, but come on man, my PS3
console has been far sluttier with her port, and it still works.
Trawling through some unofficial posts led me to some interesting chat.
The PS4's connection through hdmi doesn't get terminated properly when the
cable is unplugged "live".
I managed to just be able to see and navigate to the resolution setting and
switch to 1080i. Fortunately, my laggy Acer screen can pick up the signal
and display it.
Normally, my other screens would be able to as well, but the signal was
somewhat broken. So, yay Acer!
It costs a backup and restore to fix the issue, but thankfully, no harm
done. Other than the loss of a whole lot of No Man's Sky time... sniff
