From: ilitirit@xxxxxxxxx To: cpt-fgc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx There's only one thing I more annoying in a discussion than "correlation != causation", and that's someone quoting Newton's laws of Thermodynamics. You'll find this often in the academic field because people are steadfast in their beliefs. So when someone says "Hey, I figured out a way to get energy out of nothing!", the entire scientific community will shun them. You see, you're not allowed to say "free" energy. You're supposed to say "energy from a source that we can't detect directly". But even then they'll still point and laugh at you, till you say that stuff like Dark Matter/Energy has the same properties, and then maybe one or two will listen to you. Makes you wonder how many other nifty discoveries are being ignored. I thought scientists were supposed to be open-minded. A guy builds something that could potentially revolutionise space travel and NASA shoots it down for years on end because they've got their heads too far up their own asses to see any different.
