Yea, DLC thing needs to be changed if possible.
Can do the whole thing where its banned for x weeks or month after release to
prevent being cheesed out by unfamiliar shit but after that DLC characters
should be fair game imo.

Subject: Tekken rules
Hi Guys,
So I’ve gone through the MSSA official rules for Tekken. They’re bad. There are
references to things that don’t make sense for fighting games (teams will have
a time penalty… etc.) and probably related to FPS games or something.
I’ve attached the Tekken rules taken out of the IESF regs
(https://www.ie-sf.org/).
IeSF - International e-Sport Federation<https://www.ie-sf.org/>
www.ie-sf.org
Through the data sourced from Newzoo esports, around 191 million audiences are
participating in enjoying esports! Among the esports enthusiasts, 71% were male
and the female took the other 29%.
They actually seem okay. The only question is the number of people involved and
at what point you switch from a general tournament (round robin or double elim)
to having group stages. Subce the Provincials/Team Trials have to be finished
within 8 hours, this would limit the number of entrance. Considering half the
time the Provincial ones have random folks attending who just rock up on the
day, that’s definitely been a problem in the past.
From the guy that have run tournaments – SAP, Nick – for something like double
elim, assuming 8 hours, how many people would you have in a tournament like
that?
Thinking of changing the overall regs to fix that issue – no more random kids
from Pitsonderwater getting colours because they were the only one at their
tournament. I’ll get around to that later. Also fixing the email contact
because right now there is only 1 person who can respond to emails, so the
backlog can get out of hand.
First things first though – the Tekken specific rules. Can folks here give
these a quick read and let me know if you think they’re okay to use on the MSSA
side.
Also, would anything here need to change for Street Fighter rules.
One addition would be the DLC characters. IESF rules say no DLC characters if
you have to pay for them. Any from patches/updates are fine.
Work has been owning me…
