And I thought we’d moved past the days of fighting games built like MK2.

This jump game is jump-heavy in some matchups because there are distances where
many characters have a tough time anti-airing. Even the AI won't even try to
anti-air you at some ranges. It just dashes under.
Karin especially has no easy answer to cross ups. If she sees it she can walk
under and jab, but often you find yourself in the middle of a poke as the
opponent jumps so you have to dash under on reaction which can also fail. Jump
back attack and neutral jump attack also fails against strong jumps because of
how Capcom designed the hurtboxes.
This is one of the reasons I'm not fond of the neutral game in SFV. You can
win the footsie game for 40% of the match and then someone jumps while you're
recovering from a poke then you lose. Then you adjust so that you don't find
yourself in that position and you find that noone is in range to land and
attacks the game slows down to a crawl unless someone takes a big risk.

How are you finding the game so far Paas? Stuff making sense? The session was a
bit busy on Saturday but we should jam a few games next time.

Bodied LB in Ranked mode
Didnt manage to get any other ranked opponent the whole sunday.
Attempted to play with SAP but capcom says no.
Afterwards got into a lobby with Chojin again. That seems to be capcom
approved for some reason.

lol, nerf Salie instead.
LB's first round against Ilit should have been recorded. The way he planned
that round was the stuff of legends.
Random, random, random -> super -> during freeze frame -> everyone thinks it
was random super -> LB looks at Salie and says "chip" -> the game confirms LB
was correct and the round ends!

There were a few lag spikes but it was a mostly pleasant experience. It was
great to finally play someone else in a few long sets. I just wish l could play
against everyone else :(
