I forgot to mention that Capcom doesn't even have DInput support for SFV. What
does that mean? The *official* SFV stick for PS4 doesn't work with SFV on PC.
MadCatz have said that they (not Capcom) will be shipping a firmware update
(whatever that means...) to enable these sticks to work with SFV on PC.
Is there going to be a CTS this year? Running SFV could prove to be
problematic for stick users.

From what l understand, Capcom won't be patching frequently at all. I suppose
if something was truly gamebreaking, it would be addressed but they've
mentioned that they'll hold off on patching until after Capcom Cup.
I'm basing my statement of 'most tech being discovered' on the general
consensus that this game is simple. Its inherent simplicity should make it
easier for lab monsters to figure things out at a considerably faster pace
compared to a few years ago.
I disagree with them not having the time to test balance as their in-house
testing team is comprised of fighting game players who have years of experience
and are able to pick up on retarded shit. I'm not saying they'll notice
everything, but they should be able to identify most issues.

How long does it take to figure all the tech in any fighting game? Usually
years. I haven’t paid a massive amount of attention to SF5, so I dunno if it’s
that kind of game.
The thing is, making some small changes can massively shift the game, even
without redesigning the system. If they simply shift some frames, walkspeed,
hitboxes, they completely change how the game works. They can do that at
release date.
When T7 hit the beta stage, with the weird crap we were seeing with the
crush/armour moves, it looked like a retarded idea that would wreck the T7
system. By the time people got to actually test it, they’d fixed it happily.
Maybe Capcom will have the same.
I just wonder about patching of SF5. If they’re taking the route that you hope,
with using the beta to test how the game runs and that’s about it, then they
quite possibly will add/unblock some of the flexibility that you’re talking
about. The only thing here is that they won’t have had the time then to
properly balance characters. I don’t mean end game balancing here, but even
starting balancing.
Has Capcom said anything about how they intend to balance the game once it hits
and people start finding the broken tech?
We’ve seen both sides of the coins here – Namco with their ‘patch in the
arcades, never on console’ versus Netherealm ‘get your daily patches here!’

I was thinking more along the lines of system flexibility, i.e. what is
possible post-release compared to pre-release.
Would it really make sense to give people early access to the exact same
version of the game they'll be playing on release day? By the time the game is
released, people would have figured out most, if not all tech there is to
discover which would make the release incredibly underwhelming (what else is
there to discover?)
It's not so much about introducing new system features/mechanics but about
restricting what is possible in betas and removing said restrictions
post-release.

Sure, it’s possible that they’re hiding extra characters or whatnot, but I
don’t see the point in having a beta if they’re going to have large shifts in
the system. And it is the overall system that people are complaining about
right?
I’m just happy that the game has shifted enough that I might finally be able to
get into it.

Morning peeps,
After I had a short discussion with SAP surrounding sf5.
I realized something, that in essence two things can happen at launch:
- the game is going to be just like the beta and theres going to be
nothing added
- Capcom will release something resembling sf5 beta but it will there
will be other "stuff" added.
Sap is optimus prime on this one and believes the 2nd scenario will happen as
he sees it as a dumb move on Capcom's part to reveal everything about sf5 on
the beta. I believe Capcom is a dumb company and do make mistakes. theres
nothing else coming, this is it, I hope not , but I think it is.
Thoughts?

you even jump back hk loses to j.mk<http://j.mk><http://j.mk>. Avoid the
x-ups 100 times in the row, then the game decides your Alpha Counter input
was wrong, and the input buffer makes your move come out and you lose.
