The game is easier to play in terms of execution, and there are matches
where fundamentals matter a great deal (eg. anyone with decent normals and
movement like Vega, Karin, Chun Li). But in general, SFV is a different
style of game to other SF games. The general unsafe frames on normals and
slow throws means that these are reads-based tools, instead of space
control tools.

For example, in SFII you can do cr.lk cr.lk cr.hk builds meter, forces them
to block and pushes them back more than half screen without worrying
because it's safe. In SFV, you cannot do this because it's punishable, and
even if it weren't it's not such a great strat because there's virtually no
pushback. The whole Crush Counter system is based around the idea of
guessing when the opponent will press buttons.

I'm stuck with a shitty hopkick that is -15 on block for no apparent
reason -_- fuck you namco...did you type -13 wrong for some reason?

So is SFV much easier to play than SF4? with the removals of far punch
close punch seems odd. Also the game seems slower in terms of frames. Looks
like SFV is becoming Tekken?

How many people are involved in the beta? While Namco’s ideas on
releasing Tekken on arcade and patching it as they go along does frustrate
me, at least by the time we get console releases, the game is done. Will
SF5 have had enough testing before it hits general release?

If Dimps remembers how to make fighting games, then yes. But TBH they
still seem like they're throwing in random mechanics just because or as
bandaids to other things to cover up obvious issues. Like sweeps were too
much of a risk for many characters, because the reward was pitiful (low
damage, no Oki). So now they added Crush Counters to sweep so that you get
a hard knockdown on counter hit.

New beta soon so we'll so how the game plays.

So Capcom is finally addressing the stuff in SFV that people were telling
them since Day 1 were problematic - too many unsafe normals with no range.,,
