RGB and S-Video

It's basically the quality of the monitor, whether or not it can be rotated
(for shmups - this is size and form factor related) and how it handles
different formats.  The Sony Trinitrons are supposedly the best, but it's
hard to find compact versions that can be rotated.

If you search for "Sony PVM", the first images that pop up are of people's
retro gaming setups.
