Rollercoasters are cool but dont do cause motion sickness due to
acceleration/decelerating during up or downhills... or even turing sideways or
upside down or just turning in general.
The acc/deceleration doesnt have to be major to cause issues, it just needs to
be there. Its there in many games that we probably dont even notice.
Walking forward and stopping with game characters rarely has them going full
speed immediately or coming to perfect stop the second you let go of the
button. There are short bits of acceleration and deceleration.

Wait, on the acceleration thing, that means that continuous (non-accelerating)
speed is fine, right? That’s why rollercoaster things work?
I’m trying to think of situations where you would have something like that
happening, outside of a cockpit or something similar. Nothing comes to mind.

Some interesting info has popped up regarding the main causes of motion
sickness.
Forward backward movement seem to be "ok" in general. Its acceleration and
deceleration that fucks people over.
Rotational movement without a cockpit is an issue as well. Thats why allot of
games does or has an option for comfort mode where turning your view with an
controller snaps it sideways 10-25 degrees instead of smooth turning.
Different things makes different folks sick tho and to varying degrees so its
not hard rules to fix/help the issue.

Forward motion is a bit of a problem unless you can freeze the immediate
background – like putting you in a cockpit of a plane or mech. Teleporting
forward is easier.

Yeap.
Can make you get that same(similar atleast) feeling in your stomach like actual
rides make you feel.
Heights also fuck me over and makes me rather uneasy in VR

It's pretty cool that the VR machine tricks your brain to really "feel" the
game. So the rollercoaster ride seems pretty realistic.
