Also it seems like Ridley Scott is trying to push the original ideas of
Alien 1. Prometheus was partially what Alien 1 was suppose to be about. But
not all of his ideas came through (there's one in the deleted scene where
the infected guy who killed everyone arrived infront of prometheus in a box
shape...an old idea which they want the xenomorph to do in alien 1 when it
sneaks up behind Lambert)
And Alien Covenant has certain ideas which the original script from
Prometheus didn't get to do (Beluga Xeno, spores, etc)

For those who have seen Alien: Covenant (do not read if you haven't):

This analysis lends credence to my previous assumption that Ridley Scott
made Alien: Covenant to essentially shit on the Alien fanbase because of
how poorly Prometheus was received. Scott had a clear direction in mind
with Prometheus which dealt with a number of high-level elements that were
not immediately discernible by laymen. Prometheus 2 would undoubtedly have
gone a similar route. Of particular interest to me is that the most
fascinating theme of Alien: Covenant builds on what was introduced in
Prometheus and is easily the most enjoyable aspect of the entire film (the
rest is mostly forgettable rubbish).
