Which one is the longest if you include sidequests?  I think XII maybe?
It has some really, really annoying huntswith dumb criteria.  eg. "Wait in
this area for 30 minutes then Negalmuur will appear".  FFX Dark Matter
farming was pretty tedious.  And Penance was like a 45 minute fight.  I
think my end game time was around 150 hours?  I'll try to do FFXII in less.

I'm actually playing 4, 7, 9 and 12 concurrently.  I've never
finished any of them.  The original version of 4 has the absolute worst
interface of any FF I've played.  If 1 and 2 are worse then I'll never
touch them.  I stopped playing 7 for a while because I forgot where I was
in the story :\  I was playing 9 quite happily till LB interrupted me
non-stop to talk about SFV.  4 I played on the plane home.  I'm at the 
part
where the 15th protagonist sacrifices themself lol.  I think I'll just
stick with 12 now, then do 7 and 9 (read: I'll probably never finish 
these
games).

I was just referring to the misleading nature of these articles.
The devil is in the details.  Often when discoveries like these are 
made
they sound really exciting, but the science and economics around 
usually
say otherwise.  I mean, one could have an article that says
"Photodegradation discovery:  Light breaks down plastic" then people 
get
all excited for nothing.

Personally, I'm not too thrilled about organisms like these
(especially bacteria) breaking down plastics.

These creatures, the larvae of the greater wax moth (Galleria
mellonella), can devour polyethylene, which along with the closely 
related
polypropylene is the main type of plastic found in waste. But you’d 
need an
awful lot of them to make a significant dent on the plastic waste 
problem.
The UK alone discards almost 2m tonnes of this stuff every year. At 
the
rate of consumption reported by the researchers – one worm gets 
through
about two milligrams of plastic a day – you’d need billions of 
caterpillars
eating constantly all year round to deal with that.

Quite aside from how and where you’d farm all these bugs, there’s
something about them that news reports have failed to mention. Wax 
moths,
which are found throughout the world, are so-called because they eat 
wax.
Specifically, they love to eat the wax from which bees make their
honeycombs – and so they can devastate bee colonies. The two common 
species
of wax moth, of which Galleria mellonella is one, are thought to 
cause more
than £4m worth of damage annually in the United States alone.



On closer examination, Dr Bertocchini and her colleagues
discovered that their caterpillars each ate an average of 2.2 holes, 
three
millimetres across, every hour, in the plastic film. A follow-up test 
found
that a caterpillar took about 12 hours to consume a milligram of 
shopping
bag. Such bags weigh about three grams, so 100 larvae might, if they 
spent
half their lives eating, consume one in a month.



Whether releasing wax moths on the world’s surplus plastic really
is sensible is not yet clear. For one thing, it has not been 
established
whether the caterpillars gain nutritional value from the plastics 
they eat,
as well as being able to digest them. If they do not, their lives as
garbage-disposal operatives are likely to be short—and, even if they 
do,
they will need other nutrients to thrive and grow. Another question 
is the
composition of their faeces. If these turn out to be toxic, then 
there will
be little point in pursuing the matter. Regardless of this, though, 
the
discovery that wax-moth larvae can eat plastic is intriguing. Even if 
the
moths themselves are not the answer to the problem of plastic waste, 
some
other animal out there might be.
