It’s more on the lines of the ‘you can’t have your cake and eat it as
well’. Paas and I were discussing that proverb at some point and I decided
to look it up. On wiki I came across a number of variations on the theme in
different languages. The Hungarian one stuck.

It’s the old “Kubi o aratte matteiro”. Pops up all over the place in
random anime and manga.



Is it really the strangest idiom you’ve ever heard? That’s kinda sad. I
always liked the Hungarian idiom: “Egy fenékkel nem lehet két lovat
megülni” which translates to: *it is impossible to ride two horses
with one butt.*
