It was interesting how they trained it. Apparently it used two moves that
a human had a 1 in 10000 probability of playing. Lee Se Dol won a game
with a move that Alpha Go calculated to have a less-than 1 in 10000
probability.
One of the reasons it hadn't seen the move before was because it's deep
neural network is trained on a huge number of historical games. But the
problem is the majority of games that are played (in any genre) are matches
from "average" players. So it only has a small high level "vocabulary".
But now that it's seen the move it's unlikely that it will lose to it again.
The other difference between other gaming AIs is that instead of using only
one technique (eg. Brute Force), it uses a number of different techniques
depending on the situation. And, in order to make it improve over time,
they make it play games against itself.
