Web africa is really fucking me around. My uncapped 4mb line is almost
reliably being throttled to shit at the only time im at home in the week.
Phoned them a few times and today I basically got in a "no u" roundabout
argument with the bra trying to tell me im not being throttled.
Any good alternatives?

If your vision is free to look wherever then the actual streaming setup
and stuff needs to change... since games dont actually render most of the
stuff that you arent looking at.
So streaming stuff behind the streamer is hard cause its not being
rendered... but rendering it puts an even greater load on the already
extremely high requirements that the VR games have.

else it just looks ass.

Guy here at the office is running 100meg.
Steam maxes that out. Entire games downloads/updates in minutes
I guess that also depends on if they have some kind of "fair usage policy"
and throttling in place.

Yeah, I’m missing it a lot. It’s not just the online gaming, it’s the
random youtube vids while I eat and junk like that.
Been asking around and most folks I know don’t seem to notice much
difference between the 25 and 50meg lines. Both do 1080 streaming at 60fps.
Still… no running water might be an issue. Having to fill the cat’s water
bowl with Evian might be pushing it a little.

Wow, slow news day…
So I’ve been trying to get the fibre people to run the extension from my
garage into my house. I’ve sent them emails, phoned them, no luck.
Extending the cables is a maintenance/service issue and they’ll get around
it when they feel like it. I phoned their sales team and asked about it.
They booked me for tomorrow. While I dislike pushy sales people, sometime
they’re the only ones who get things done.
Here is hoping that I have net access by the weekend.
