Just got started on a new project today.

Ask about timeline for deliverable and stuff... then I get informed that its
already behind schedule since it was suppose to have started 2 weeks ago.

Fun times :P

Would be awesome if we could use Jeeva's place again for EVO but we'll have to
confirm with him. If he's there again on Saturday, l'll chat to him about it.
On a somewhat related note, l'm thinking of running sessions at Kamimodo on the
21st and 28th of Feb. Yay or nay?

I wonder how this affects streams. Are they actually making money off the
stream, or is the advertising that generates the cash.
Also if people make donations to the stream, is that exempt from the ‘selling
footage’ thing? If they don’t air the stream unless they meet a certain amount
of donations, does that then qualify as selling?

Speaking of which, are we doing Jeevas place again for Evo?

Oh, and here is a picture of one of my cats, Tom.

Ah okay, that's pretty interesting. So if you record a tournament of a
particular game (KI as an example) you aren't allowed to sell the tournament
footage at all? I wonder if that disclaimer is made explicit when one buys a
video game
not that I ever bother to read through any of it :P

MS recently redid their policy around this. They are pretty open and chill

sell the videos at all.

Only really odd requirement they have is that you are not allowed to use the
games name in the video description...

Not quite the same but on a similar note I recently read an article about
Microsoft possibly enforcing additional controls over their games and not
allowing third parties to directly generate income from them. I think guys were
saying that
it may become illegal for tournament organizers to generate income by
streaming or using their games to do so unless they'd obtained permission from
Microsoft itself. Personally I don't see it happening any time soon - if at all
- but who knows, laws around
these sorts of things always seem fuzzy and the streaming industry is becoming
pretty massive with ludicrous sums of prize money being thrown around so maybe?

Gaming companies in Japan seem to be against it in general. That’s why they
complain so much about youtube and fight to get any references to their games

that aren’t under their control are evil. It’s this rabid fear of youtube that
lands them up accidentally shutting down their own channels for copyright
infringement.

I remember reading somewhere that Japs are against twitch and streaming gaming
vids. Or is that only Nintendo?

Yeah, Jap footage always looks sucky, even at higher res.

I know that videos taken from Nico Nico will look like that, because they limit
the res.

Still doesn't explain why all their videos look like 240p.

R270 for Gat out of hell, or R450 for Saints row 4(and all DLC) and Gat outta
