Here's the scrubbiest article I've read in a while:
https://medium.com/board-games/how-a-board-game-did-fighting-games-better-than-fighting-games-f8f7f0c8a3b3

Actually I lie, I couldn't even make it past the first paragraph.

I can speak from my own knowledge: it’s frustrating as hell to lose not
> because you were out-thought, but because your thumbs weren’t nimble enough.

This is scub-talk 101. Imagine the same idea was applied to sport.
"I'm better than Messi, it's just that he has better coordination"

What's next? Let's remove the aspect from memorization from competitive
games because some people can remember things better than others?

I can't imagine that anyone who came from the arcade scene will make an
argument like this.

Take for example a game like Shinobi. To get the special bonus, you have
to finish the level using only CQC methods, so no Shurikens or Bullets.
Obviously, this makes the game much harder, but if you want to get better
scores then it's what you have to do. It takes quite a bit of practice
before you can beat the first boss without shooting, but you do get
rewarded for it.

That idea that you should get the same reward simply for knowing how to do
it without actually doing it is ridiculous.
