Hmmm. CGT doesn't really affect me. I can't own shares because of my job and
it's not like I have multiple properties lying around.

I get the feeling that anyone earning R300k+ is going to see an increase. Right
now their effective tax rate is around the 23% mark. I can see that easily
going up 1-200bps. The other brackets should get at least that much.
That is, if they actually intend to screw us over.

We have a bloated civil service - the largest cabinet in the world. That costs
a lot to maintain. Then we have all the things falling apart - the PO, Eskom,
NSFAS.

Zero tax on foodstuffs on basic foodstuffs isn't a bad idea. I also don't mind
if they increase sin tax through the roof. Booze and smokes are bad. I don't
understand why books are taxed so heavily in this country though.

because of some huge loan by Eskom, the government has to acquire the money
from somewhere.

Our manager believes from a loketest it was gathered that:
VAT might be increased to 15% with more basic foodstuffs being zero rated to
not negatively influence the poor. (nerf and a buff)

Capital gains tax will be increased to 50% no longer 33%. - Huge nerf to the 1%

Also add another level of taxation above 40% for the 1%, speculation is , it
will increase to 45%. - huge nerf to the rich as well.

I miss Trevor Manual's speeches. They were cool. Interesting speech, nice
anecdotes, some jokes and end it all with no increase in PAYE.

Pretty sure we're gonna get screwed on the tax this year.

I think the environmental factor only occurs at end of a round. Which is good.
Injustice's stage change is a bit much...
