Perhaps he is just venting and in doing so, calming himself down.

Well what do you propose? That's all l'm saying. You end up upsetting yourself
over something you can't change. No one (outside of the downright naive or
uninformed ) is oblivious to what's happening here. If everyone was like-minded
enough for the government to give an actual fuck about what's going on, that
would be a different story altogether, but we all know that's not the case.

For the price of a nice apartment in the City Bowl in Cape Town, you’ll get a
big house, with garden and a pool and all that jazz, in a nice suburb in
Jo’burg or Pretoria.

I'm surprised about the apartment prices in Cape Town. It's pretty cheap and
the size is pretty ok for it's price compare to Thailand...Thailand you can pay
a fortune (min. R10m) and get a hole...

Depends... the fact that people have the perception of the country helps with
the property market in Cape Town along the coastal regions. You could buy an
apartment for R10m in Sea Point 3 or 4 years ago and sell it for R20m now.
That's what all the foreigners are doing. I get offers from foreign buyers for
my place a few times a month even though it's not on the market. A friend of
mine got an apartment roughly for what I paid for mine, but got offered triple
the amount in monthly rent from a foreigner.
Personally, I think it would be cool if the country goes to shit for like 6
months so that I can buy more property for dirt cheap. And then rent it out at
prices only the 0.1% can afford when it gets back on its feet.

But that's just me being a selfish prick.

By law there are certain things only council can do wrt connecting some stuff.

One example is (happened last week on a site jaq was on) The council needs to
come connect the earth for a new house.
This is a simple job that one person could do in 30 mins.
council rocked up with 4 guys in a van who had to borrow Jaqs tools ..... and
ask what to do and where to do it (no idea or care what their jobs are)
Once their job was done they connected some phase thing for regular appliances
then connected a multiplug to that and finally plugged in their portable fridge
and sat and played cards for the rest of the day.

SA Government is fucking rotten from the inside out all the way down to council
level.
Obv not everyone ever but ya'll know what i mean.

He mentions Sol and Zato becoming weaker against elphelt as well.

Elphelt can still "win".

Could be inaccurate cause they were google translated tweets.

Trivia for today.

Ever wondered why the sign for a dollar is an S with a line through it?
Originated from a "piece of eight", or peso de ocho, which was the Spanish
dollar. The plural of Peso was Pesos, or Ps. Eventually they thought it would
be a cool idea to merge the P and the S (wtf). And then that eventually became
the dollar sign we know today.
