Tekken 6 BR lost a lot of players due to the wide spread nerf to a lot of
the characters to beyond playable...Zafina was stupid trash.

TTT2 is probably the most balanced out of all.

Also, a lot of other fighting games have been released during BR. So people
had other choices.

3D fighting game have a different mentality as in playstyle compare to 2D.
Frames are a bit slower. Sidestepping is very important. The move list is
huge. And the game comes down to a lot of poking and launch your opponent
for their mistakes. You can't chain low pokes into combos like most 2D game.

I think it's also because 3D fighters are less flashy than 2D. 2D you get
projectiles and supers. 3D fighters are usually just straight up martial
arts. Reason behind this is probably because projectiles and supers don't
work so well in 3D...sidestepping system kills any chance of projectiles
being as useful as 2D. Soul Calibur 5 did a pretty good job with supers and
meter. It's only downfall was the lack of original cast i think...blame the
tsunami for their incomplete release.

3D moveset is very different to 2D. You can't have hold back charge moveset
because 3D games rely a lot of moving around a lot (dashing, backdash and
sidestep). So they diverse their moves by having a large command set.
Instead of unique input like GGxrd.
