From what I saw, Draeka plays the player, not the matchup. If you can't
block overheads, he'll never go low unless it's about midscreen distance
with random slide. On his wake up, blocking will allow you to punish his
EX Ground Pound or Slide but if you use too often he'll wake up with
overhead. You can also do a late neutral jump to beat his options (he can
slide but it's quite hard to do from range), but again if you do it too
often he'll do forward jumping punch to beat it. He uses the same zoning
pattern every time until you crack, get hit, or he sense that you are
waiting for him, in which case he'll run in and throw or overhead. You
just have to be ready for it.

If you knock him down and he is about mid to 3/4 screen away, he'll slide
if you like going for projectiles, or he use clone to beat potential jumps
and then start the zoning game. His wake up is inherently weak to Cassie
Cage BS because it beats armour (I think? The meaty shot setup).

Sometimes he goes on autopilot on offense and doesn't confirm delayed
wakeups which causes his setups to whiff. He has good enough reactions to
punish midscreen neutral jump with slide most times unless he already
committed to something else. I've confirmed that this can't be trip
guarded from an empty jump. Even if you do a late downward angled kick,
the slide is fast enough to beat you as you land. However, a move that
keeps you in the air for slightly longer or changes your trajectory can
avoid or beat it.

From chatting to Draeka, he uses Subby as much as Scorpion. It was his
choice for the finals in Jhb, so maybe that is his level.

Hehe. Lots of D’Vorah to come then. I really need to spend a bit of time
tonight or tomorrow getting some practice in. Not really that geared up for
the tourney.

Sesh was great. We had Draeka play FT3 sets. He used Grandmaster Sub all
the way through. He lost most of his matches initially but eventually
started playing a bit more comfortably. I know he has other pocket
characters so l have no doubt that he was sandbagging, but l'm not
surprised that he decided to grind it out with Sub just to feel people out.

Saturday will be interesting for sure, as Raj and Gamerkidd weren't
present and Zolani and Di were playing their pocket characters *lol* I'd
like to see how Draeka adapts to Zol's Brood Mother and Di's Swarm Queen.
