From the general manager: RTD has a new roadmap
The agency’s new five-year strategic plan, approved unanimously last month by
the Board of Directors, will serve as the blueprint for RTD’s long-term
success. It was developed with input from community members, local leaders,
Board members and RTD staff, and it establishes four strategic priorities –
community value, customer excellence, employee ownership and financial success
– as functional pillars to plan, develop, evaluate and measure RTD’s overall
performance.

RTD Board approves updated northwest rail study, backs majority of
accountability committee recommendations
The 15-member body agreed to study implementation of a “peak service” rail
schedule to northwest communities and supported most of the 43 recommendations
forwarded by an independent accountability committee. Discussion on the
recommendations was light and unanimous (with two abstentions). Conversation
about the northwest rail study, and its $8 million price tag, was productive –
and robust.

When riding RTD, don’t forget that mask
Face coverings are still required on all RTD services, per federal mandate –

Tip of the month
With the official start of fall this month comes the beauty of changing leaves.
It’s a perfect time of year for a hike to enjoy the fall colors – just remember
to anticipate the changes in weather that come with an increase in elevation.
Dress in layers, bring a windbreaker or waterproof shell, and never hike alone.
And because we live in Colorado, pack and drink lots of water.
