Dear Valued RTD Customer:
We hope this communication finds you safe and healthy with the official arrival
of summer right around the corner. To keep you informed of the latest news at
the Regional Transportation District (RTD), we will continue to send periodic
updates. Following is a summary of what is happening right now:
RTD lifts capacity limits on its vehicles as service changes take effect Sunday
The service adjustments support modest increases in ridership, improve on-time
performance and increase service reliability. With this set of changes, RTD
will also lift vehicle capacity limits that have been in place throughout the
pandemic, a move that aligns service levels with available staff resources and
helps RTD prepare for additional increases in ridership with summer events and
more people returning to the office. To review the service changes, visit RTD’s

Don’t lose that mask: Face coverings remain required on transit through Sept. 13
RTD continues to follow a federal order requiring that transit passengers wear
a mask while riding buses and trains – a requirement in place across the RTD
system since the state mask order was issued in spring 2020. To learn more

Want to share your thoughts with the RTD Accountability Committee? Monday is
the deadline
The committee has drafted a series of recommendations for agency improvements
and wants public input. It is anticipated that the final report will be adopted

Riding transit during the pandemic is safe; attend a virtual meeting to learn
more
Public health officials have said over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic that
buses and trains remain safe modes of transportation, provided that customers
follow the basics, which include wearing a face covering and practicing good
hygiene. RTD recognizes, however, that people considering a return to the
system still have questions. Please plan to attend “Welcome Back to RTD: A
Conversation About Safety and Security,” a virtual discussion planned for 5
p.m. Thursday, June 24, and noon on Friday, June 25. Key RTD leaders in safety,
security and operations look forward to fielding your questions. Watch RTD’s
website and communication channels for more details in the coming days.
Engagement opportunities coming up for September service change, fare study and
equity analysis
Three virtual public meetings are planned to discuss changes in service for
September, at 5:30 p.m. on June 28 and July 1, and at noon on July 7. Service
planning staff will be on hand during these conversations to receive questions
and comments, which can be provided through July 8.
To learn more about the fare study and equity analysis RTD has begun, attend a
telephone town hall meeting at 6 p.m. June 30.
