GM and CEO Debra A. Johnson Marks First Year at RTD This Week
This last Tuesday, Nov. 9, marked one year since the General Manager/CEO
assumed her role at RTD, becoming the first woman to lead the agency in its
52-year history. Amid the uncertainty of the last year, Johnson said, RTD
worked through health and ridership impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic,
difficulties recruiting new employees in a tight labor market and heightened
scrutiny by political entities. The agency also charted its path forward by
adopting a new strategic plan that will provide a blueprint for organizational
excellence in the coming years.

New on News Stop: Transit from a Customer Perspective
The News Stop has begun featuring a crucial viewpoint: that of RTD customers.
Guest bloggers will be featured periodically to share their perspectives about
the agency. The first post is from 13-year-old transit advocate Jackson
Ledesma, who writes that public transportation is “ a way to experience our
city from a different perspective. No longer trapped in an automobile in heavy
traffic, but in a large bus or train filled with people from all walks of life;
each person with their own unique experiences.”

It's Veterans Day – Thank You For Your Service
On Nov. 11 of each year and every day, the contributions of the millions of
U.S. military veterans called to serve our country are appreciated, including
those employed by RTD. They are essential to our workforce and bring
discipline, leadership and teamwork to a variety of positions throughout the
agency, benefiting their colleagues and the communities they serve. Wondering
what America’s veteran population looks like? Click here for research
